Islam's creed fits in one sentence: there is no god but God, and Muhammad is His messenger. Behind it sit six articles of faith that every Muslim holds: belief in God alone, in His angels, in His revealed books, in His messengers, in the Last Day, and in divine decree (that nothing escapes God's knowledge). Practice then stands on five pillars: the testimony of faith, the five daily prayers, zakat, fasting Ramadan, and Hajj once in a lifetime for those able.
